About Us
About Morrich Baker
Morrich Baker (Pvt) Ltd is a Sri Lankan baked-food
manufacturing and distribution company established in 2018. We began our journey at neighbourhood
level and, within a short period, expanded our distribution of quality Milk Rusk across Sri Lanka.
Our company was incorporated under the Sri Lankan Companies Act on 17 December 2018.
We specialize in the manufacture and distribution of baked foods, with a particular focus on
producing high-quality Rusk with accepted nutritional content at affordable prices for consumers
across different socio-economic groups.
Our experienced technical personnel bring more than 20 years of progressive experience in baking and
food production. We combine this expertise with skilled employees and technically modified modern
machinery to continuously improve the way our products are designed and processed.

Our Founder
Founder History
Mohamed Naleem, born in 1979, is a Sri Lankan Muslim and the
one and only son of his beloved parents. From his younger age he was motivated to become a leading
entrepreneur, and he opted for the food industry — inspired by his hometown, one of the largest
agriculture-based economic centres in the South East of Sri Lanka, with large extents of land for
paddy and sugarcane cultivation and medium-level dairy farms.
Having learnt the technical aspects behind baking food from the experienced bakers in his
neighbourhood, he established a cottage industry to bake Rusk in 2019. In 2020, he wanted to change
the way Rusk is manufactured in Sri Lanka and began baking Rusk from recommended nutritional value
contents — as malnutrition remains a serious problem for Sri Lankan children, generally induced by
an imbalanced diet.
Since 2021, Morrich Milky Rusk has been distributed across all 25 districts in the country, with a
sale volume of LKR 50 million per month. Morrich Baker has also released another
variety — Whole Wheat Rusk, the first-ever product of its kind in Sri Lanka.
Morrich Baker will leap forward to produce Rusk from ingredients that improve the human immune system
in the forthcoming years — a need highly realized following the prevailing world pandemic situation.

Cottage Industry Begins
Established a cottage industry to bake Rusk after learning the craft from experienced
neighbourhood bakers.
2020
Nutrition-First Baking
Started baking Rusk from recommended nutritional value contents to help fight child
malnutrition.

Island-wide Distribution
Morrich Milky Rusk reaches all 25 districts, with sales of LKR 50 million per month.

Our workforce comes from the descendants of retired bakers who worked with
hands and firewood some 75 years ago in our neighbourhood — a complete agrarian rural back then.
